I left briscoe lane school (miss lamberts class) in 1966. I have kept in touch with a few old classmates Janet Chadwick, Gary Kendal, Steve mc’cartney, I also kept in touch with Peter Higgins until his sad passing away, I often wonder how David Jenkins is I think he moved to Wales,he used to live next door to my Aunty and uncle

I remember Lambert. Never got over the abject humiliation she subjected me to when I had the temerity to ask a question. Whole class laughed in my face. Never again would I dare to ask any teacher a question.

I can remember the following children in my class: Graham Lang, Alfred Percival, Stephen Whitehead, Charlie Hampson, Jimmy Nicholson, Hilary Hall, Kay Beard, Pauline Brogan, David Donbavand, Ann Haig, Alan Reeves, Brenda Farrington and Geoffrey Thingie who could recite the whole of Tennyson’s Hiawatha.

I suggest Brenda Unknown in the third row is the aforementioned Brenda Farrington.

This photo was taken before I arrived: Mr. Bannister was Acting Head at the time until Wareham took over (lack of honorific intentional). Mr. Bannister stood in for Lambert once – he gave me an Honour Mark during the lesson even though I gave an incorrect answer. I wish he’d been my main teacher.

    Bitter?

    Ya think?

Hi Christine. Very nice to hear from you and thank you for all the information. If its not too much trouble. Is there any chance you could put the names next to the numbers in the pictures, including yourself, so I can update it. Hopefully, more people will get in touch as well, so we can get all the names and any more details. If you have any more photographs, it would be great to post them on here as well. Glad you enjoyed the post as well.

Hi Christine. Very nice to hear from you and thank you for taking the time to share your memories. Its a great photograph.

Are you in the photograph yourself? Do you know any of the missing names? And do you know if indeed this was taken in 1957?
